On the 2nd & 3rd of December 2017 I joined lots of Sheffield's best independent makers and sellers for the Etsy Made Local Christmas Craft Fair at Cutler's Hall.
The event saw thousands of visitors looking to purchase locally produced gifts for Christmas. This was my only fair of the 2017 Christmas period and it luckily it was the biggest one of the year in Sheffield. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to lots of people who found places they know and hopefully some inspiration from the prints. It's also great to see some regular collectors and of course to meet other sellers from Sheffield.
I enjoy the whole process of preparing for craft fairs. It gives a motivation to put effort into the printing and product side of my photography. It is still a little stressful however pulling everything together in time.
When you spend time going through prints and ordering recent prints it often shines a new light on certain images you have overlooked.
The Danscape 2018 Calendars were a real hit this year and I sold out by mid way through the second day.
It's great to talk to people about the locations they are familiar with from prints. While most of the talk was of the local landscapes and walks, I chatted to someone familiar with the West Coast of Ireland, plenty of people who knew locations in Iceland and lots of love for Scotland.
