EDITIONS - OPEN V LIMITED
Open edition prints have no set number of prints. There is no compromise on the quality of the Open Edition Prints, they are printed on Professional Photographic Paper using C-Type printing process. The prints can last up to 100 years if displayed away from direct sunlight. C-Type prints on this silver halide paper provide the widest colour range and density of blacks and colours and are a great medium for photography.
Each open edition print is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity and well packaged/wrapped. Smaller prints (up to 20”) are shipped flat in a box, larger prints are shipped carefully rolled in a tube.
Open editions are a great way to collect artwork for your walls and also to send directly as a gift.
Limited edition prints will only be printed in a set size & format a specific number of times or for a limited period of time. Once they have sold no more will be produced.
Limited Editions are produced on the highest quality fine art textured papers which give a different feel to the image. Utilising a fine art paper such as Hahnemuhle Photo Rag and giclee printing adds a new quality to the printed surface. With a completely matt finish the prints sit beautifully in well lit environments viewable from all angles.
Limited Editions are supplied with numbered Certificates of Authenticity.
CHOOSING A PRINT SIZE
12"x8" Prints make for great gifts and fit in many off-the-shelf frames. These prints are a great way to build a gallery art wall of your favourite landscapes.
16"x12" Prints are the most common size purchased and fit a wide number of frames either with or without a mount. This size provides a little more of a focal point within a room without dominating.
28"x20" Prints are another very common size which suit off-the-shelf frames and create a real centrepiece in most rooms.
Remember the size of print can also be driven by the viewing distance. Large prints aren't designed to be viewed up close but from a few meters back and to compliment the space they occupy.
Prints are by default supplied sized to inches however some frames are sized to CM’s. Please check and let me know if you have a specific request.
4"x6" = 10cm x 15cm
5"x7" = 18cm x 13cm
8"x12" = 21cm x 30cm
12"x16" = 30cm x 41cm
16"x20" = 41cm x 51cm
20"x28" = 51cm x 71cm
24"x36" = 61cm x 91cm
5"x5" = 13cm x 13cm
12"x12" = 30cm x 30cm
20"x20" = 50cm x 50cm
A quick guide to aspect ratios and print sizes. Sometimes a specific print simply won't suit a given size as the ratio will mean cropping part of the image.
HOW TO GET MY PRINT FRAMED?
Generally I recommend getting your print framed locally, primarily because this saves postage cost and the risk of damage in transit for large framed items.
My standard prints sizes have been carefully selected to match in with off the shelf frames from retailers to save hassle. Bespoke print sizes are available by request.
For the highest quality finish and for bespoke framing to match your decor I recommend visiting a local framers who can show you different mountings and frame colours.
For a more cost effective option you can get frames from Ikea, The Range, Hobby Craft and online retailers such as Easy Frame, and Frith Framing.
